The North Carolina Home Builders Association is pleased to announce the winners of the annual 2009 STARS Awards, an awards program that honors the achievements of home building industry professionals.

More than 250 industry professionals gathered in Charlotte September 16 for the awards gala. Winners received recognition in categories such as marketing and advertising, Web design, landscape design, interior merchandising, architecture/floor plans and special projects. Awards were also given to local home builders associations. 

Best Internet Marketing/Advertising Project for a builder, developer, associate, realty company or community (Associate Award) was won by St. Germain Media Services LLC for the “Home Builders Support Career and Vocational Education” video. They are a member of the Ashe County Home Builders Association

Nearly 400 building industry professionals from North Carolina and surrounding states gathered at the Westin Hotel in Charlotte, NC, on Sept. 10, 2008 for the Sixth Annual STARS Awards Gala.

Winners received recognition across 41 categories that covered marketing, advertising, web design, sales centers, landscape design, interior merchandising, architecture/floor plans and special projects. Awards were also given to local home builders associations, communities of the year, a distinguished associate member and a distinguished builder member.

For the second year in a row, St. Germain Media Services, LLC. won two prestigious STARS Awards.  They were recognized for designing the Best Home Builder Association Website and for designing the Best Associate website.

The STARS Awards Gala is held in conjunction with the 21st Century Building Expo & Conference sponsored by the North Carolina Home Builders Association.

Each year the competition pays tribute to members who make major contributions to the residential home building industry.

In 2008, the program boasted a record number of entries, and a total of 63 STARS awards were presented at the awards gala along with the recognition of 20 Outstanding Achievements. The STARS Awards ultimately symbolize tremendous achievement, honor, and distinction among building industry professionals.

Kelley St. Germain, owner of St. Germain Media Services, has announced that St. Germain Media Services was awarded two 2007 STARS Awards from the N.C. Home Builders Association at the annual STARS Awards Gala during the 21st Century Building Expo & Conference in Charlotte Sept. 12-14.

St. Germain Media Services won a STAR for the Best Home Builders Association Website in the state of North Carolina.  They have won this award an unprecedented 2 times in the last three years.

St. Germain Media Services also won an Outstanding Achievement Award for Best Builder Website in the state of North Carolina.  This is the first time that they have won in this catagory.

The 2007 STARS Awards Gala recognized builders, developers, sales and marketing professionals, interior merchandisers, Web designers, home builders associations and others in the home building industry.  Judges for the 2007 STARS Awards reviewed the 161 entries before selecting the very best in North Carolina. A total of 50 STARS awards were distributed and 17 Outstanding Achievements were recognized. These awards symbolize tremendous achievement, honor, and distinction among building industry professionals.

More than 300 executive officers in the Home Building Industry caught the wave of learning August 7-11, 2007 in Long Beach, CA. Sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders, it was a week filled with learning and networking from peer-to-peer sessions, keynote speakers, roundtables and workshops.

One participant, Kelley St. Germain, noted that he received great hands-on training in topics such as financial planning, media relations, member recruitment and retention and Parades of Homes. There were sixty educational sessions and three keynote speakers, who were great additions to the week.

The opening keynote was Mt. Everest mountaineer Ed Viesturs, who talked about the importance of teamwork, regardless of the situation. Pam Hemann, 2007 Chair of the American Society of Association Executive (ASAE) talked about the Seven Measures of Success. It was a great presentation that focused on taking the association to the next level of success. The final speaker of the week was futurist Bill Croasmun of Social Technologies, who talked about the future of the housing market.

Raleigh, NC: Kelley St. Germain, along with other members of the Ashe County Home Builders Association, traveled to Raleigh May 22-23 for a Legislative Conference.

Sponsored by the North Carolina Home Builders Association, this was an opportunity to meet with the various legislators in Raleigh and talk about Home Builder Issues.

Kelley and the Ashe County Team had productive meetings with Representative Cullie Tarleton and Senator Steve Goss. They finished with a reception at the State History Museum where they were able to meet and discuss Home Builder issues with a variety of legislators.

Kelley St. Germain, of St. Germain Media Services, recently attended the The 2007 International Builders' Show® sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders.

Held February 5th-8th in Orlando, Florida, this is the largest Home Building-related show in the world. With over 1,900 exhibitors and more than 103,000 building industry professionals in attendance, the 2007 Show was a huge success!

St. Germain, who also attended the 2005 IBS Show, attended a variety of educational sessions pertaining to marketing the Home Building Industry.

Over 300 individual sessions were offered, including a variety of special interest forums. St. Germain also attended the Opening Ceremonies in support of the outgoing national President, David Pressly, from Statesville, North Carolina.
