More than 300 executive officers in the Home Building Industry caught the wave of learning August 7-11, 2007 in Long Beach, CA. Sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders, it was a week filled with learning and networking from peer-to-peer sessions, keynote speakers, roundtables and workshops.
One participant, Kelley St. Germain, noted that he received great hands-on training in topics such as financial planning, media relations, member recruitment and retention and Parades of Homes. There were sixty educational sessions and three keynote speakers, who were great additions to the week.
The opening keynote was Mt. Everest mountaineer Ed Viesturs, who talked about the importance of teamwork, regardless of the situation. Pam Hemann, 2007 Chair of the American Society of Association Executive (ASAE) talked about the Seven Measures of Success. It was a great presentation that focused on taking the association to the next level of success.
